Bangers and Mash is a classic served in pubs throughout Ireland. Here is an update on the traditional dish, featuring precooked chicken sausages. sausages are the perfect complement to creamy mashed potatoes. Bangers and Mash would obviously be a wonderful recipe for St. Patrick's Day, but your kids will eat it up on any day!

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 precooked chicken sausages
  • 1 batch creamy mashed potatoes, hot (see recipe here)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped (optional)
Instructions
    1.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    2.
Add the chicken sausages and cook until heated throughout (about 7-8 minutes, total). Remove the sausages from the pan.
    3.
Place a scoop of mashed potatoes on each plate. Top with two sausages. If desired, sprinkle with parsley. Serve immediately.
Tips
  • For best results, serve this dish hot. If you want to make the bite-sized version a little easier to grab, stack the sausage and potato on a cracker that's slightly larger than the sausage.

  • Once the sausages are heated through, remove them from the pan and slice into ½-inch rounds.
