When you've had enough of cake or cupcakes, try this recipe. This Chocolate Chip Walnut Pie is the ultimate. It's full of ooey-gooey chocolate-y goodness that is sure to warm your belly. It's even better if you serve it with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream—the warm pie and cool ice cream is an awesome, perfect pair.

Ingredients
  • 1 9-inch graham pie shell
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips (or 1 cup chopped chocolate chips)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
    1.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
    2.
Place the pie shell onto a baking sheet and set aside.
    3.
Crack the eggs into the bowl of a stand mixer. Using the paddle attachment, beat the eggs until they are pale yellow and frothy—about 2 minutes—then stop the mixer.
    4.
To the bowl of the stand mixer, add the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter, salt, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed until the batter is smooth (1 - 2 minutes). Stop the mixer.

    6.
Pour/spoon the batter into the pie shell. Use a rubber spatula to smooth out the top to distribute evenly and flatten the top.

    7.
Slide the baking sheet with the pie shell into the oven and cook for 50 - 60 minutes, until golden brown on top and cooked through. A toothpick inserted into the center of the pie will come out clean when the pie is done.
    8.
Cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes before serving.

Tips
  • Serve this with a dollop of French vanilla ice cream. The yummy pie goes wonderfully with it.
  • Don't have ice cream? Try some fresh whipped cream instead.
