Ingredients

• 2 1/4 cups white sugar
• 2/3 cup cocoa
• ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
• 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder

• 1 teaspoon salt
• 3/4 cup butter, softened
• 4 eggs, slightly beaten
• large bowl
• 9x13 inch pan

Instructions

Pour the ingredients into a large bowl.

Add the butter and eggs, mixing until thoroughly blended.
3.
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch pan.
4.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
5.
Cool, cut into squares.

Tips

Directions for layering the Jar:

Mix the dry ingredients, place them into a large Ziploc bag and then into the jar.

If you are including the nuts, place them into a separate bag, for freshness!
