Easter Party

It's that time when our favorite fluffy bunny hops into our homes leaving delicious goodies behind. It's also a time for family togetherness, for spiritual reflection and oh yes, let's not forget chocolate eggs! So join in the celebration by having your own Easter party.

EASTER INVITATIONS

If you're crafty in your way of thinking, or you want to get the kids involved in the party prep, this is a great opportunity to get started. Either pick up plain white cardstock, or choose some pastel colors and cut out egg-shaped invitations. Give them to the kids to decorate as Easter eggs. A sample invite text could be"We're having an Egg-stravaganza for Easter and you're invited!"

DECORATING IDEAS

What's an Easter party without decorations? When it comes to plates, balloons, and other decorations, think pastel colors. You could even create a giant balloon egg basket.

Recycle an old cardboard box as the basket, then blow up a bunch of pastel colored balloons to fill it. On a piece of cardstock, write "Love the Easter Bunny" and attach it like a card on the basket. You can leave it outside (if the weather is nice) to greet your guests, or you can put it on your main table as a decoration.

You can also find lots of fun things at the dollar store including fake Easter grass, plastic eggs and mini baskets.

PARTY FOOD

You must make sure there are lots of carrot sticks in case the Easter bunny arrives! We've also got a full selection of fabulous Easter party recipes that you can explore as well. Carrot cake, carrot juice -- have fun with this theme (and it's a nice, healthy alternative to chocolate)!

PARTY GAMES

We've got a whole bunch ofparty games and activitiesfor you to enjoy this Easter. We've also got fabulous ideas for Easter crafts that you can add to your party plans. We've given you a few other fun ways to keep yourself (and the kids) busy.

Egg Hunt

One of the classic Easter activities is an egg hunt. There are lots of variations on this. You can hide chocolate eggs around the house for the kids to find, or use plastic ones in an easy version. Or, you can find the plastic eggs that can open, and give the kids one with a clue to start that leads to the next location. The next egg has another clue and so on. In the end, you can have a fun chocolate (or even better - bunny!) surprise. We also have fun ideas for an Easter egg scavenger hunt.

Easter Egg Decorating

Hours of fun can be spent decorating Easter eggs in a variety of ways. For your littlest bunnies, it's worth creating fun egg coloring pages so they can color to their hearts' content. Older kids might like to dye eggs, or paint hard-boiled versions. You can also include gluing on sequins etc. We've got some great egg decoration ideas here.

Make an Easter Basket

This great Easter basket craft will most definitely be a hit. You could also have some fun pulling out old yogurt containers and having the kids create their own recycled mini-Easter baskets. Or, you could go green with the containers. Punch holes in advance in the bottom. Then, fill each one with some rocks at the bottom and some dirt. Have each child put in a special seed and take it home as their special Easter plant that will bloom for them at home - a gift that keeps on giving.

Party Favors

Whether you send the kids home with their homemade crafts, or you opt to hand out pre-made party favors, you'll definitely be sending everyone home with wonderful memories.
