Many a little girls dream of being a princess, and that's why it's one of the most popular party themes for little girls. If you're planning a princess birthday party I have an easy princess crown cupcake wrap you can make for the guests.
At the end of the party the girls can take the crowns and tiny magic wands or even the whole cupcake home with them for a party favor.
You can use cardstock to make these wraps, or use scrapbook paper that has a shimmer to give your wand and crown a shine.
- Ingredients
-
- pink cardstock or scrapbook paper
- purple carstock or scrapbook paper
- 12 jumbo size cupcakes (any flavor) baked and cooled
- 3 cups decorator frosting
- red food coloring
- 1 decorator bag
- Instructions
-
1.
Print out the
Princess Crown Cupcake Wrap Pattern. If you decide to make your own pattern, the band of the crown should be about 10" long by 1 ΒΌ" tall. Draw a 1" tall triangle on the top of the band in the center, and two smaller triangles on each side. Use the pattern as a guide. Trace the crown and the stars onto your cardstock
2.
Cut the pattern pieces out from your cardstock. For each cupcake you'll need to cut out 1 wrap and 3 stars.
3.
Glue 1 of the stars to the center of the large middle triangle on the crown wrap.
4.
Put a little on one of the stars, place the end of a tooth pick in the glue. Stick another star to the other side, so the toothpick is sandwiched between the two stars to make a tiny magic wand.
5.
Lay the wrap crowns and the magic wands aside to dry.
6.
Add 1 or 2 drops of the red food coloring to your decorator frosting to color it pink. Once the color is satisfactory, place the icing in your decorator bag, attach a decorator tip, and frost your cupcakes. (Alternately, you can use a plastic ziplock baggie, and snip the corner for a makeshift decorator bag and tip.)
7.
When the crown wrap is completely dry, wrap it around one of the cupcakes to measure where it should be secured into a loop. Once you have wrapped into to the appropriately sized loop, remove it from the cupcake and hold it in place with your fingers. Use the stapler to secure it into a loop.
8.
Again, make sure the glue is dry, and carefully insert the decorated cupcakes into the wrappers. Insert the star wands into the frosting.
- Tips
- Use a little edible gold glitter on the top of the cupcake for jewels, or add stick on jewels to the cupcake wraps.
