TIE-DYE BIRTHDAY PARTY FOOD

A cake can be easily decorated in a Tie Dye Motif. First frost your cake with wite frosting. Then, randomly place food coloring drops onto frosting. Using a plastic spatula, swirl the dye around the top. Place Skittles around the base of the cake for added color; it creates a really beautiful effect. Before to provide adequate drying time to frosting before cutting and serving the cake.

Tie Dye (of course!)

Materials:

tie dye kit (buy this before the party; read the box to know how may shirts can be made with the dye--typically a box can dye 8 - 15 shirts)
latex gloves (even if your dye kit comes with gloves, you will likely need extra for your guests)
plastic garbage bags (to cover your work space)
rubber bands
pre-washed cotton tshirts, socks, tanks, or boxers
a large bucket will be needed for pre-soaking in the dye set solution (provided in the kit)
washer and dryer on the premises

Directions:
Tie-dye kits come with very clear instructions and design ideas.Read them well before party time. I recommend trying one before the party if you have never tie dyed before.The tie dye aspect of the party will take about 1 hour or less. Let clothes dry overnight and remove the rubber bands in the morning. Wash and dry the items. Leave several game and activities out to keep the kids occupies whil the shirts are washed and dried.
