"Your mission , should you choose to accept it, is to come to my birthday party!"
Then, include the party details.
SECRET AGENT SPY BIRTHDAY PARTY DECORATIONS
Create a Secret Spy Headquarters with standard party decorations, streamers, balloons, etc. Add secret agent wall decorations (giant paper question marks), and a table centerpiece and foot prints leading up to the door.
Try creating a Spy or Detective Headquarters by using large appliance boxes, butcher paper and poster paint. Your local computer recycling center will have extra keyboards and other items to add for effect. Younger children will want to play in the spy headquarters during the party, so it's worth the work.

Guest IDs
Fashion a fake retina scan or thumbprint ID with poster board and markers, and place it at the front door. As your guests arrive, approve each guest for entrance.
ID Badges
Before the party, use your computer to create pretend ID cards, leaving space for a photograph. You should be able to make several on each sheet. Print on ID Badges on cardstock paper, cut, punch a hole and a place them on a
lanyard for the kids to wear. As the guests arrive, use a digital camera to take a photo of each child. Provide a spy fedora hat and/or
super secret spy glasses that the child can wear for the photo. Resize, print, and cut the photos. Then, use a glue stick to attach the photos to the badges.
Tip: provided you have access to photos of the guests before the party, you could make the IDs ahead of time and get them laminated.
Spy School Training Course
Directions: Secret agents need to be in top form; flexible, fast and coordinated. This game is sure to give them a workout. Create an obstacle course in your yard or a large room using 2x4 boards for balance, chairs to climb over, tires, ropes to scoot under etc. Play some fun music and allow the kids to take several turns. Everyone receives a Spy School Certificate at the end (create these on your computer and print them out on cardstock before the party).
Detective Disguise Relay Race
Directions: All good agents know how to disguise their true identity! Before the party, mark a start and finish line in your play area. Divide the kids into teams. Provide each team with a suitcase filled with disguise items; hat, glasses, trench coat wig etc. Each team should have the similar items. When you say "GO" the first player on the team will quickly put on the disguise, run to the finish line and back, then remove the items. The next player, takes a turn and so on until all team-mates have had a turn. The first team to accomplish their mission wins!
Who Am I?
Directions: Before the party, write names of favorite movie, book, or cartoon characters on 3x5 cards. To play the game, tape a card to the backs of each player. Don't tell them who is on the card. They have to ask other players questions, until they figure out their character.
Tip: For younger characters, keep it simple and use pictures instead of words. You may want to use objects instead of characters.
Treasure Hunt Goody Bags
Directions: After cake, ice cream, and presents, send the newly appointed secret agents on a treasure hunt mission to find their goody bags. This is a great way to end a super Detective party!
