Beading and braiding is very popular with girls ages 8-14, so this theme makes a great birthday party for girls. The entire party is filled with beading activities!
BEADING BIRTHDAY PARTY DECORATIONS
Use standard decorations, balloons streamers etc. with a lot of color. A white sheet should work as a table covering with scattered glitter or candy for added pizzaz. Add fun additions to the party room, like lava lights, colored bulbs in small lamps, black lights, and pillows everywhere for "girl talk "time.
BEADING BIRTHDAY PARTY SUPPLIES
Filling small storage boxes with beading supplies. These beading supplies will be used during the party and your guests can take them home as party favors afterwards!
You'll need; tubes or bags of beads, thread, needles, latches, bead trays, candy, maybe some fimo clay to make beads at home. Befor ethe party, place all of the items in small personalized plastic storage boxes (this is a great task for the birthday girl!).

Play music, and provide snacks and help if necessary; Girls over 10 will enjoy less supervision.
Beading Necklaces, Anklets, and Bracelets
Provide a variety of beads; these can be purchased by the tube or strings. Also, provide a "special" bead for each guest, like one with their initials, a smiley face, or aflower. Provide clasps, beading thread or fishing line, and a aeading tray for each guest. These are usually about 50 cents each at your local crafts store and can then be given as a party favor.

Provide hemp or twine, cardboard work pieces (each should measure about 6"x10"), and clips to hold the hemp or twine the top of board. Also, offer a few beads with large holes for chokers.Making Beads
Make unique beads with rolled paper and glue. Cut long triangles from wrapping and wallpaper. Wrap tightly around a nail and glue the end. Practice making beads before the party, until you get the hang of it, so you can teach guests.
Clothes Pin 7-up Game
Add a party game in between beading activities!
Directions: Give each player 7 clothes pins. On "go" each person must get rid of their clothes pins by pinning them on someone else. Only one pin per person! The game continues for about 5 minutes or more, depending on how much fun you're having! On STOP, the winner is the one with the least amount of pins!
BEADING BIRTHDAY PARTY FOOD
Teens love to munch, so provide a fun variety of finger foods like:
- veggies and ranch dip
- chees and crackers
- melon balls in a glass bowl
- chocolate kisses
- lollipops
- Sour Patch Kids
Have the guests each make her own pizza! Provide prepared crusts, tomato sauce, cheese and pizza toppings. When it's time to bake the mini-pizzas, make sure an adult is there to supervise and be in charge of the oven.
