Baby Einstein Birthday Party

Thia Baby Einstein birthday party guide is perfect for a 1st birthday party, or for a toddler party. You'll have a blast with these party games and activities!

(Is your child a bit older? Check out the Little Einsteins party guide!)

BABY EINSTEIN BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATIONS

Make your own invitations with card stock paper. Your local scrap booking center will have die-cut machines available for your use. Cut ducks, turtles, dogs and other favorite animals. Use a bright gel pen to write your message and party information.

Variation: For an extra special invitation hand deliver a small animal beanie toy or rubber duck with the note attached.

BABY EINSTEIN BIRTHDAY PARTY DECORATIONS

Primary colors are in order here. Hang streamers and balloons. Place Baby Einstein (or similar) puppets and stuffed animals where they can be seen and played with. When entertaining little ones always be alert to choking hazards. Balloons should be placed out of reach.

Cover your  table and set with Baby Einstein plates, napkins and cups. Use a stuffed monkey, elephant or giraffe for a centerpiece and attach a bouquet  of balloons to the stuffed animal.

BABY EINSTEIN BIRTHDAY PARTY GAMES AND ACTIVITIES

Upon arrival to the party, give each guest a cap decorated with their  name and an Baby Einstein character. Painters caps can be purchased  at a hardware store for less than $1.00.  Use fabric paints to write the names. Decorating is a breeze if you use  stencils or painting sponges from a craft store. Try lions stencils, monkeys stencils, etc.

Put on a Show

Ask some creative friends to coordinate a puppet show just like on the Baby Einstein DVD's!

Dance and Move

Play Mozart or other favorite classical music and provide a safe place for the children to dance and move to the music. Young children may need encouragement from Mom & Dad. If you have enough stuffed animals the children can make them dance as well.

Bubble Fun

Little ones love bubbles! Toddlers can blow their own bubbles with spill proof bubble bottles and wands. Otherwise, adults can blow the bubbles and the children can catch them. Play music for this activity as well.

Art Time

If the children are old enough, add an art project to your party. Provide paint with water books, play dough with animal cookie cutters or animal shaped sponges and paint.  Don't forget the art smocks or large T-shirts! Also, try any of these arts and crafts projects for kids.

Circle Time

If you are not comfortable leading a story, songs, and finger play, hire a preschool or Kindermusik teacher for a special circle time to honor the birthday child.

Parachute Play

Use a large bed sheet or purchase aplayground parachute. Gather the children and some adults to form a circle around  the parachute. Hold the edges and work together to move it up and down. Once the children get the hang of it, allow a few children at a time, to go under the "dome". Then put a stuffed dog, lion, monkey, or other aimal in the center and make then hop and jump as well.

BABY EINSTEIN BIRTHDAY PARTY FOOD

Baby Einstein Caterpillar Cake

Use a Wilton "mini sports ball" cake pan, which makes 6 half-balls. Frost each ball a different primary color. Use a decorating tube and gum drops for the face and shoestring licorice for antennae. Place the caterpillar with the domes close together, on a cardboard cake tray (you can get this at your local party or craft store).  You will want to make extra dome cakes or cupcakes so there will be enough for everyone.

Variation: Get creative and make a dog, duck or other animal shaped cake.
