This Valentine gift provides a reminder that winter is almost over.
Melanie Lunsford of Maine, came up with this springtime surprise for
her kids to make for their teachers.
"...they really enjoyed painting the pots...the entire project only took
about an hour including drying time. I think we'll make some for Grandma next year!"

First, print a design on the pot using a cut kitchen sponge
and acrylic paints. Heart shapes are the easiest to cut
from sponge. Allow to dry. Place potting soil, seeds and
planting instructions into the pot and wrap the
whole thing in a ribbon.
Variation:
Make a paper heart with a message.
Attach it to a florist stick and place into the pot as well.
