How to Make a Decorative Pen
A great gift for a teacher, parent of friend. Add this craft idea to your classroom, scout troop meeting or birthday party!

You’ll need - ball point pen, embroidery floss, tape
Optional Items- pony beads, shells, small feathers etc.

Step 1. At the tip of the pen, tape one end of the
embroidery floss so that the end of the floss points
towards the end of the pen.

Step 2. Tightly wrap the floss to create ~ 1" of the first color.
Cut and tape the first color while adding the second color to the tape, as you did at the beginning.

Repeat this process until you have covered the pen completely with your color choices. Cut and tape the final color leaving about 4 inches of floss at the end. You may need to wrap and knot the final piece to hide the tape. (this might take some practice)

Leave enough floss to bead or braid at the end.
Tie on a few other colors of floss to the end piece. Braid and knot. If you chose to bead or decorate your strand  add the beads before the final knot.
