Include the kids on game day with these mom-created Super Bowl party games, football snacks and Super Bowl craft ideas.

Super Bowl Party Supplies
You can host a fabulous party without special party supplies but, they can make your life a little easier and set the mood for the kids at your Super Bowl party.

For stress-free party planning, order your
football party supplies online from Birthday in a Box! Also, combine this NFL pattern with basic football decorations.

DECORATING FOR YOUR SUPER BOWL PARTY

  • Invitations are easy - get out the scissors and brown cardstock and create footballs! Be sure to note the date and time of the party, as well as the time of the game so your guests won't miss the opening!
  • Invite your guests to come dressed in their team colors. You could even throw a costume contest as incentive. Or create your own easy-to-make football costume.
  • Decorate your table with a green tablecloth and set it up like the football field. You can even have different snacks on the different yard line. Use a color scheme to match your favorite team colors. Balloons, streamers, posters and signs are all festive and easy. Place a poster or sign on the front door and hang more inside on the walls and windows.Try making paper footballs to hang from the ceiling.
  • Cover your party table with green butcher paper and use white paint, or adhesive tape to make the grid iron. Then add a bottle of Gatorade and a referee whistle at each table place setting. A cupcake stand piled high with football cupcakes (see instruction below) will make a super centerpiece. The possibilities are endless - have fun with it!

Food for the Fans:

  • Celebrate the big game without burgers, potato salad, wings, chips and dip.
  • Keep everyone well-fed with big bowl foods you can prep ahead of time such as chili, macaroni & cheese and nachos.
  • Get more fabulous football party snack recipes from our sister site, Kaboose.

Game-time Activities:

  • Challenge your guests to a football quiz at half-time.
  • Play a game of "football charades" using the classic football terms such as helmet, cheerleaders, coaches, team etc. as the charades to "perform". Have a football tossing contest using a mini foam football as seen below into a hula-hoop.
  • Collect a bunch of football whistles and give one to each guest. Any time someone uses the word "football" (or something that fits such as 'team') and are caught, they have to surrender the whistle. The person with the most whistles at the end wins a prize.

SUPERBOWL PARTY GAMES & ACTIVITIES KIDS CHEER FOR
Add a quick party game during the commercials or when the kids get antsy.
If outdoor play is not an option...it is February after all, adapt games to play indoors or use a garage play space.

Training Course
Every athlete needs to be in top physical shape and this indoor course will give the kids a workout. Set up an obstacle course using items you already have around the house; Chairs, pillows, jump ropes, boxes etc...kids will race the clock to go through the course.

Balloon Football
Use a brown balloon to represent a football. Play music while the kids try to keep the "ball" off of the ground with gentle taps.

Hide and Seek Sports
Hide small football erasers, stickers, pencils and football cards around the party area and then send the kids to search for them. Just like an Easter egg hunt.

Football Scrabble
Use the pieces from one or more Scrabble boards but use only one board.
Before your guests arrive place the board on a coffee table or any where that is centrally located. Keep the pieces in a bowl nearby. Start with one theme related word in the center, such as football, fumble, touchdown, etc. Throughout the party the guest can keep adding to the board.

Make Some Noise with a Super Bowl Craft
These are fun for kids to make and require no glue, so they can be made easily and used right away!

You'll Need:
Clean recyclable containers such as water bottles, soda bottles or yogurt containers
Rice, dry beans, beads, and jingle bells…anything that makes noise
Colored duct tape, electrical tape
Stickers, football cards or other decorations

Scoop the beans, bells or beads into the containers. Now seal and decorate the containers with colored duct tape, electrical tape and stickers.
Kit's tip: print out images from the Internet and use a glue stick or glue dots to attach the images to the shakers.

Kids love to decorate cookies...
Before the party use a football cookie cutter to make simple sugar cookie cut outs. Then provide frosting, decorating tubes and sprinkles for decorating.
Kit's Party Tip:
Using wooden craft sticks will make frosting the cookies easier for the kids.

Food for Hungry Fans
Of course there is the usual football fare of chips, hero sandwiches etc.
The kids will like simple sandwiches cut with your football cookie cutter.

Football Cupcakes
A great halftime treat to enjoy!

Frost your favorite cupcakes with green frosting turf, and white decorator frosting yard lines.
Top with the football candy and flag to finish the look! Make your flags with construction paper,
a toothpick and a glue stick – the kids can help!

Can’t find the football candies?
Use butterscotch candies (Werthers), chocolate covered almonds or brown jelly beans.
The laces are made with a white decorator frosting tube. I admit the jelly beans are tricky….
I used a toothpick but it’s not my favorite option.

Football Sodas Kids Love
Italian syrup comes in a variety of colors and flavors.
Provide syrup/s to match your favorite team colors.
You'll need clear plastic cups or glasses, Italian syrup, soda water and a small amount half and half (optional). Top with whipped cream and serve with a straw.

Party Favors:
Say "Thank you for coming" by filling stadium cups, or caps with any of these sports related items: stickers, candy, baseball gumballs, fruit snacks, baseball cards, Gatorade, wristbands, power bars or sunflower seeds.

Football Cake - easy
Frost a sheet cake with green frosting. Use white decorating frosting to make yard lines. Add football figurines to the top.

Kit's Time Saving Tip - Save time by ordering a sheet cake from your local grocery store. They will frost in any color and you can add your personal decorating touches at home.
