Shark Tale Birthday Party
Invite Oscar,
Lenny, Angie and the rest of the Shark Tale cast to your child's party and you are sure to have a whale of a good time!
Using these Shark Tales party games, crafts and fun recipes, you'll have a party your child will never
forget!
Invitations
Create homemade invitations using brightly colored cardstock paper,
cut into fish or shark shapes. Sprinkle a little blue glitter in
the envelope before sealing.
On the front:
"Dive into ______'s Birthday!
Back:
We've invited Oscar, Lenny, Angie and the gang to
celebrate!
Time, date etc.
Time Saving Tip: Many of the ideas on this page
require
pre-cut shapes. Most scrapbook stores charge a small
fee
to use their die-cut machine. It will be worth it to do
so!
Decorations:
The color scheme for this party is aqua blue, lime green
and bright yellow. Create and underwater effect by vertically
hanging strips streamers in various lengths, from the
ceiling. We use "sticky-tack" for this, to avoid
making too many holes in the ceiling. Cover a table with a Shark Tale tablecloth
or a white sheets. Scatter gummy sharks, sequins or ocean
themed toys all around the center of the table. Make a
centerpiece
using a Shark Tale gift bag and a bouquet of
balloons.
Tie the balloons to a weight and place them in the bag.

Shark Tale Party Games and Activities
We've provided several party games and activities to compliment the Shark Tale Theme - Select two or three games that
are appropriate for the children's age group and the
location of your party.
Whale Toss-a-Cross

Make enough Whale Tossing
Jugs for children to play
catch with each other.
Use these instructions to make
a few sets of Whale
Tossing Jugs. Divide the kids into pairs, giving each
pair
a bean bag or "Koosh" Ball and two whale tossing
jugs.
Make sure the whale's mouth is big enough to catch the
bean bag or ball. Play Oscar's favorite Hip-Hop music
or the soundtrack from the movie while the kids toss the ball back and forth in teams. Everyone gets a treat
when the game is over!
Shark Slayer Tag
The birthday child begins as Don Lino the Shark in the middle of a large playing area. All other players are "Fish" who must try to run past
"Don Lino" to the other side of the playing area. If a Fish is tagged, he or she holds hands with "Don Lino " to build a bigger shark and help tag more fish.
The last fish alive, wins!
"Oscar, Oscar, Angie"
Many traditional party games can be easily adapted
to match your party theme. In this case you will use the
names of the Shark tale movie characters to replace
"Duck, Duck, Goose."
Fish, Fish, Shark - Oscar, Oscar, Angie etc.
Rules for Duck, Duck, Goose are as follows...
Oscar Says
Play this game just like Simon Says, except the leader replaces "Gill Says" before each command.
It's more fun when the children are asked to do fish-like
actions. "Oscar Says...move your arms like an
octopus"
Find Lenny or Oscar
Before the party, cut and hide paper sharks/fish with each
child's name written on it. Each child will find a fish,
then work together to find the
fish with their own name.
Fish tags are redeemed to receive a party bag!
Don Lino Keep Away
Protect Oscar and Lenny from Don Lino!
Before the party, inflate several white balloons
and just two colored balloons.
Play the soundtrack of Shark Tale while the kids try to
keep
gently tap the balloons around a room. The colored balloons
are Oscar and Lenny. Take turns designating players to be
Don Lino --
The object of the game is to keep "Don Lino"
from catching
the colored balloons and keep ALL balloons
from touching
the floor. The white balloons provide are a decoy and
allow all children to play. When the music stops a
new
"Don Lino" is established.
Shark Tale Party Craft Ideas and Ocean Art Activities
It was so easy to come up with Shark Tale Crafts that I
couldn't stop....Pick one or two appropriate activities for your party.
Paper Plate Jelly Fish
Ernie and Bernie are two of the favorite characters
from Shark Tale - Make your own to take home.

You'll need:
paper plates, strips of crepe paper or ribbons,
glue stick, scissors, something to color with and
construction paper.
Cut the paper plate into half-circles before the party.
Let the children color the half circle (body).
Depending on the children's ages you can precut
black and white paper circles for the eyes.
If the children are old enough and you have
enough scissors, they can cut their own.
Glue or staple strips of tissue/crepe/construction paper
along the bottom. Glue the eyes and mouth onto the
front of the jellyfish.
Ocean in a Bottle
An easy activity that the children can take home!
You'll Need:
12 oz. plastic bottle (one for each child)
with a secure screw on top
Empty pop or water bottles are perfect!
6 oz. of vinegar per child
blue food coloring
6 oz. cooking oil per child
Funnel -- we suggest a few
Rubber cement or very strong glue!
For extra fun...add fine glitter (craft store), sea
life
beads or small ocean toys
Cover your work surface. If the children are old enough
they can help make these. Other wise they will enjoy
watching you and an adult helper (or two) make their wave
makers.
Using the funnel, pour the vinegar into the bottle, then
the oil
then a few drops of food color. The children can then add
glitter and maybe a few sea life beads or small
toys.
When everything is inside the bottle seal with rubber
cement to prevent leaking.

Under Water Taste Treats
Shark Punch
This refreshing drink has a surprise “bite” lurking just
beneath the surface! A day before the party, make shark
ice cubes by freezing bite-sized gummy shark candy in
ice cube trays filled with water. Let the trays stand at
room temperature for an hour to remove the air bubbles
before placing them in the freezer. The candy will
dissolve
slightly while freezing, tinting the cubes a soft pastel color.
Then, prepare blue drink mix according to package
instructions (Kool-Aid® works well). Pour the blue drink
into a punch bowl and add 2 liters of ginger ale.
When serving, place two or three shark cubes in a tall,
clear glass for each child and fill with punch!
Under the Sea Treat
Each guest will get to eat their own personal aquarium!
Pour blue Jell-O into clear plastic cups and partially chill.
When the Jell-O is slightly thickened add a Gummi shark,
fish and a few pieces of
fruit by the foot or fruit leather
(seaweed - optional). Continue to
chill until firm.
Before serving, top with a wave shaped whipped cream swirl.
Have a great Shark Tale Party and remember to have
fun!
