At Home Olympics Party Games and Activities

Without proper planning this party can get pretty crazy.
Be sure you are well prepared and have some grown-up or teenage helpers. Assign an "MC" to keep things going smoothly.

Before the party, purchase large T-shirts in different colors to represent the "countries". You can also use craft foam sheets and a glue gun to make badges for each child to wear.

As each guest arrives provide them with their country shirt and/or badge.

The challenges should range from a simple bean bag toss,
to a silly obstacle course.
Use the following items: small, soft football;3x5 file cards, or stiff paper to make score cards; masking tape; timer/stopwatch; tape measure ;empty beverage cans;  softballs or bean bags; low table; an empty egg carton;
a referee and a helper (siblings, or guests waiting their turn are great for this!)

Long Jump: This game is a standing long jump, so running starts are not allowed! Mark a starting line with masking tape on the floor. Mark each jump with a piece of tape and write the player’s name on it. Record each player’s longest jump.

Obstacle Course: Set up an obstacle course using items you already have around the house; Chairs, tires, jump ropes...

Other Challenge Games: egg toss, back-to-balloon pop,
water balloon toss, balloon volleyball, wastebasket -ball,
and Hula hoop contest.

We chose silly and easy games, so that children of all skill levels would enjoy playing. Our party games pages and carnival party will provide ideas.

At the end of the Olympics award individual prizes for the fastest time, longest jump, etc. make SURE each child wins a ribbon.

Party Favors:
Say "thank you for coming to my party" with Gatorade, wristbands, gold medals, Power bars and any sports related items.
