Care Bears Birthday Party
Celebrate your birthday with this Care Bear party plan including games, crafts, decorations and activities for kids.

The key to a successful children's birthday party, is in the planning.
For peace of mind, try to allow yourself 4-6 weeks of prep time.
But, don't panic if your short on time; you can still plan a great birthday party! Begin by ordering your Care Bears party supplies on-line.
Then, add the party games and fun Care Bear party ideas provided
below to complete your planning.

CARE BEAR DECORATIONS
Turn your home into Care-a-Lot, with Poly-fill clouds Care Bear stuffed toys, Rainbows on the walls, and rainbow colored streamers and balloons. Cover your table with a white tablecloth and scatter, rainbow colored candies or confetti on the table. Add matching plates and/or napkins. Create your own centerpiece with a bouquet of balloons tied to a large, stuffed Care Bear as a centerpiece.

Face Painting
Upon arrival to the party invite each guest to have their face painted.
Use kid-safe face paint to paint the Care Bear symbols on each child's cheek. Shamrock, heart, rainbow, star, sun or flower.
TIPS: Draw the symbols with markers on a piece of paper before your party. The children can use these pictures to select their symbol.
Consider hiring a teenage friend or relative to do the face painting for you.

Find Your Care Bear
Before the party make Care Bear cards by cutting several squares of paper (four for each child). Place a Care Bear sticker on each card so that you'll have 4 Tenderhearts, 4 Grumpy Bears, 3 Love-a-lot etc. Hide all of the cards except one for each bear. At game time, hand out one card to each child. The object of the game is to find the three matching
Care Bear cards that corresponds to the card they are holding.
Example: If a child has been given Tenderheart bear - they will search for the Tenderheart cards. Variation: If you could also give each child a Care Bear figure to match the cards.

Musical Clouds -Play like Musical chairs
Before the party cut clouds from poster board, quilt batting or white fabric. One for each child. At game time, place the clouds randomly around floor.
Play music while the children move around the room. When the music stops, they run to find a cloud to stand on. If you are playing with younger children we do not recommend the traditional musical chairs concept of one child remaining with out a cloud. Play the game several times.

Bring the Fun back to Funshine!
Funshine Bear can't help you have fun without her sunshine.
In this game the children will help her find it!
Before the party, draw a picture of Funshine Bear on a large piece of yellow poster board. It doesn't have to be perfect a simple bear shape
will do. Glue on a white paper circle for her tummy. Then, cut out a
yellow paper sun for each child. On the party day, add a piece of double stick tape to the back of each sun with the child's name on the front.
Place your Funshine Bear on the wall. Blindfold each child
one at a time and gently point him or her towards the poster.
The player that places their sun closest to the center wins.
Tip: Not all children like being blindfolded. Be prepared to have the children close their eyes instead. Remember everyone gets a small prize!

CARE BEAR PARTY CRAFTS

Birthday Poster
You'll need a large piece of white butcher paper.
At the top of the banner, write ?Happy Birthday (your child?s name)!?
Mount the paper on a wall within easy reach, lay it on the floor or use a table. Provide crayons, markers, stencils, stickers, glue, glitter....let your guests create their own masterpieces. Ask the kids to add their names and ages beside their drawings for a finishing touch, and encourage them to write special messages to the birthday child

Make Care Bear Symbols
Use a Perl art kit to make hearts, suns, shamrocks etc.
Each guest can take theirs home!
This activity requires a hot iron...
Make sure that their is a designated adult for this task.

Care-a-lot Place mats
Use Die cut bears (teacher or scrap book store), Glue Sticks
stickers, markers etc. Construction paper or card stock paper; one piece
per child and clear Contact paper or laminating sheets

Invite each child to decorate their paper using the die cuts and other art supplies. "Make you own Care-a-lot"  Cover the finished papers with contact paper or self laminating sheets, to make a waterproof placemat.
