An extra large piece of cardboard painted red will make the roof.
The kids will enjoy playing in this special house!

you give them an orange "joe-shirt" and a pair Blue's ears upon arrival!

Handy Dandy Notebooks
Purchase small spiral notebooks for each child. Provide fabric scraps,
ribbon, stickers, markers, glue etc. The children will decorate their
own "Handy-Dandy Notebook" to take home!
What's In the Box
No Blue's Clues party theme would be complete without the clues!
Before the party wrap something special in a box.
Keep it simple so that the children can understand the clues.
EX: balloons, cookies, candy, balls etc...
Write or draw clues on blue paw prints and hide them in the party area. Show the children the box and tell them what's inside is a secret...
They will need to find all of the clues (paw prints) and work together.
When they guess what's in the box - open the box and give each child a treat or prize from inside.
The Thinking Chair
Cover a chair with special red fabric. Place several easily recognized
items on a tray; blocks, spoon, blue's clue toy, crayon...
Gather the children in a circle around the thinking chair. Show them
the tray with all of the items. The first player will sit in the thinking chair.
You will leave the room with the tray, remove an item off of the tray.
When you return with the tray can the player in the thinking chair guess what's missing? Keep playing until all of the children have had a turn.
Doodles Guessing Game
You'll need a wipe of white board and wipe off markers.
Gather the children in a circle. Tell them you need their help to figure out the picture on Doodles board. Begin Drawing simple pictures - house, flower, sailboat etc. As you draw small parts of the picture ask if they can guess what the picture will be. When the children have guessed, complete the simple drawing!
Do the Blue with Boogie Woogie
Play a Blues Clue's CD, while the kids dance with
Blue's special dance moves. Show the children the steps
first, to help them feel more comfortable.
How to do-the-Blue!
Swing your arms from side to side,
sway your head, swish your hips around
Then do them all together!
*Don't forget the video camera!
Paw Puzzler
Before the party -- Print out Blues Clues pictures from the Internet or,
use a coloring book. Use a glue stick to affix each picture onto some construction paper. Cut the pictures into 2, 3, or 4 puzzle pieces.
Hide the pieces around the party area. The children will each find one puzzle piece and then find the the players with the matching piece/s.

resources at the bottom of this page.
Walk with Blue
Can also be done with Magenta or Polkadot
Before the party, cut paw print shapes from felt.
Write large numbers or shapes on each stone with a permanent marker.
At game time form a circle using the stones. The children will walk from
paw to paw while Blue's Clues music is playing. When the music stops,
call out a number. Whoever is standing on the paw print with the corresponding number will receive a small prize (sticker or candy).
Repeat this game until all of the children have received at least one treat!
Pin the Paw on Blue
This game is played just like "Pin-the-tail on the Donkey"
Find a print out pattern and directions on Nick Jr. website.
Coloring Sheets
For younger party goers, it's always a good idea to provide
a quiet coloring space. Set out coloring sheets and crayons
on a table or mat for the children to enjoy.

Blue's Clues Birthday Cake
![]()
We found several ways to make a Blue's Clue Dog cake.
However, we found this mailbox cake to be easier. You'll need a
rectangle sheet cake and a round cake to cut into your shape.
Frost with purple frosting and out line the mailbox door with pink
decorator frosting.
The flag is made with red fruit leather, smile is red licorice.
Make the eyes using white Necco candy wafers and a black gel
decorating tube.
TIPS: Freeze your cakes in wax paper for easy cutting.
To achieve a true purple or lavender frosting you will need to use Wilton's cake decorating food color paste (craft or cake decorating supply shop)
Time to Go
If your guests are young, settle them down before leaving
with a Blue's Clues Story book or DVD. Then, pass out the goody bags
as they leave. Play and sing Joe's Good-bye song!
Blue's Clues Hat Instructions

You'll need:
inexpensive painter's caps (paint store),
three shades of blue felt or fleece
red felt for Blues' tongue
navy blue fabric paint for the eyes
Iron on adhesive and/or fabric glue
