Ladybug Party Supplies
For stress-free party planning, order your party supplies on-line.
Then, use this ladybug party guide to plan your games , activities , decorations and cake. Remember to have fun and enjoy your
little one's special day!
Please Note: Our favorite party pattern has been discontinued by the supplier. Not to worry...you can use red black and possibly green solid party ware for the table. Ladybug toys, posters and coloring sheets and our creative ladybug ideas will help you do the rest. For example, the image above shows an adorable ladybug centerpiece you can make with a flower pot, paint and sticky backed craft foam.

LADYBUG BIRTHDAY PARTY DECORATIONS

Of course, the party decoration colors will be black, red and anything
with ladybugs. Cover the party table with a red table cloth, place Oreo's
or any chocolate cookies around the table to make spots.
Create a festive balloon bouquet centerpiece using
red, black and Mylar ladybug balloons, tied to a weight. Place the weight into a red gift bag. Fill the bag with tissue or artificial flowers.

To REALLY set the scene for this party create a GIANT garden
for the ladybugs. Use colored butcher paper, poster board or fabric
to make giant flowers, butterflies and stems of grass. Attach them
to the walls, doorway etc.

Make Little Ladybugs

Upon arrival, adorn each guest with ladybug antennae.
Made with a headband, pipe cleaners and Styrofoam balls.

LADYBUG BIRTHDAY PARTY GAMES AND ACTIVITIES

Miss Ladybug has lost her spots...Bean Bag Toss
Before the party, make a large cut out of a ladybug body using red and black poster board (red body and black head & legs) and several black bean bags. Do not make black spots on the ladybug body. Place the poster on the floor. Players help the lady bug "get her spots back", by taking turns
tossing black bean bags onto Miss Ladybug's body.

Pin the Ladybug on the Leaf
Play like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Draw a green leaf on a sheet of poster board. Cut red paper ladybugs for each child. Use double sided tape at game time. Young children may not want to wear a blindfold, but they can close their eyes. Then gently spin each player 3 times before they try to get the ladybug onto the leaf ...don't forget...eyes closed!

Play "Hot Potato" with a ladybug bean bag.

How Many Bugs in the Jar?
Decorate and paint a ladybug on the lid of  a large glass jar and fill with black and red jelly beans. Take turns guessing how many beans are in the jar. The winner gets the jar filled with jelly beans! All other players receive a baby food jar with a red bows on top and filled with jelly beans.

Ladybug Ladybug Fly Away Home
This game is similar to Musical Chairs.
Cut large poster board, or felt leaves. Make one leaf per child. Place the "leaves" randomly around the play area. Explain to the guests that they are going to pretend to be ladybugs. They will fly around the room while music is playing (lively classical music). When the music stops they must find a leaf to land on game.
For additional fun...

Before the party, select some small prizes, or treats. Write a number on the prize using a permanent marker, or a sticker. Then, write a corresponding number on each leaf. When the last round of the game is played, the players will receive the prize that corresponds to the number on their leaf.

Ladybug's Leaf Landing
Use felt or poster board to fashion a large leaf. Place the leaf on the ground. Mark and "X", a reasonable distance from the leaf.
Purchase 3-5 ladybug beanbags. When it's time to play, the children will take turns trying to toss the ladybugs beanbags onto eh leaf. the bean bags can be added to the party favors after the game.

Additional ideas:
If you are crafty, make red felt lady bug bean bags for each child. Paint features with black fabric paint. Red socks, pipe cleaners and fabric paint can also make a darling lady bug puppet that all of your guests will enjoy!
