Spa Party Supplies and Decorations to Set the Mood
For stress-free birthday party planning, order your party supplies on-line. Then, use the spa party ideas and tips below to create a party with pampering, primping and pre-teen fun!
Although our favorite party suppliers no longer carry a spa party pattern, it is easy to create one on your own. To emulate a Day Spa atmosphere, solid colored party items in chartreuse, yellow and white, make a the perfect color scheme. Or, combine some of the playful items in the Glamour Girl party pattern from Birthday In a Box with the personalized spa party invitations and stickers to create a playful mood.
Special Touches
Drape the furniture in your room with white sheets or other matching fabric. Provide several comfy floor pillows, mirrors, candles (depending on age), white "Christmas" lights and fresh flowers.

THE SPA PARTY BEGINS...
Prepare your spa activities in stations, with a helper at each station; nails, facials, foot soaks, make-up and hair. To make things less hectic, limit the activity stations to three. Click here for home spa recipes. Be sure to have a fresh washcloth and hand towel for each guest. Depending on the age of the girls, you may want to include traditional spa treatments with face masks with cucumber slices placed on the eyes. Serve refreshing spa water; chilled water, lime and cucumber.
Upon arrival, provide each guest with a lightweight smock/robe and headband/hair tie, to keep hair away from their face. Until all of the guests arrive, provide a large sheet of poster board and markers for the girls to create a giant card for the birthday girl.
Once everyone has arrived, you can divide the girls up to begin the "spa rotation" moving from station to station. If you are using face masks, allow the girls to do this all at once. Apply the face mask, lay into a circle on the floor and place cucumber slices on their eyes...Ahhh so relaxing!
ADDITIONAL SPA PARTY ACTIVITIES
These make and take projects can be created before, or after the "spa activities" and then added to the party favor bags.
Bath Salts:
You'll need:
- Epsom Salts (pharmacy)
- Soap fragrance drops (craft store)
- Soap Dye (craft store)
- Zip-loc baggies
- Label stickers and markers
Before you mix the salts have the girls design their own label for their bag. Create an appealing, relaxing name and then decorate the label as well.
Then place 3/4 - 1 cup of Epsom salts into the baggie. Pick a color and
add a few drops of color and scent. Seal the bag and mix it up.
Body Glitter
You'll need:
- Aloe Vera gel
- Small travel cosmetic container with a screw top lid
- Fine polyester glitter (craft store)
- Blank labels and markers
- wood craft sticks for stirring
Have the girls design their own label for their container.
Give their body glitter a fun name and decorate the label as well.
Fill the container about 1/2 to 34 full. Sprinkle the glitter into the aloe gel until the desired effect is achieved. Mix with wooden craft sticks.
Be sure to take plenty of pictures. If it's possible to send a picture home
with each guest, that's always fun.
Spa Party Favors
Fill party bags with the bath salts and glitter gel the girls made. Add hair clips, nail polish and a hand lotion...what a special way
to say "thanks for coming to my party"!
Spa Party Cake
A flower shaped birthday cake is easy to make using brightly frosted cupcakes. Use orange frosting on the center cupcake.
Then, frost the reaming cupcakes in yellow or white. Place the
cupcakes on a serving plate fashioning a flower with the orange in the
center and the remaining will be your flower petals. Trim the edges of
the plate with fresh peppermint leaves as greenery.
