Easter Games and Activities for Kids and Families

Easter is day to dress in your Sunday best, celebrate life, enjoy brunch and of course eat way too much chocolate. But, have you thought to include some fun family games in your Easter celebration? It's a great way to occupy sugar-fueled kids and build memories!
We asked some Amazing Moms and here are their fabulous ideas ...

A Bigger -Better Easter Egg Hunt
The Cornell's from Florida had older kids but weren't quite ready to give up the Easter egg hunt--So now they include the entire neighborhood in a more complex scavenger egg hunt...see details >>

Easter Bowling Game
Michelle and her family enjoy Easter egg lawn bowling. --
Play with several colored eggs and one plain white, hard boiled of course. Roll the white egg into the center of a room or on your lawn. Take turns to see who can roll their colored egg the closest to the white egg.
"The shape of the egg actually presents quite a challenge and If the weather doesn't cooperate, we just play in our living room."

Less Sugar...More Fun!
"We try not to make the focus of Easter on Candy." says one mother of three. "I turn party games into Easter games for our younger family members and keep puzzles and board games out for the older ones. We end the day with a big family egg hunt using plastic eggs filled with quarters and stickers"

Hop, Hop Easter Bunny
Work off some of that candy induced energy with Easter Bunny Hop; a relay race for two or three teams.
Each player must cover a certain distance jumping with a plastic, stuffed or styrofoam egg between his/her knees.

Fluffy Needs a Tail
Draw a tailless rabbit on poster board.
The children will take turns "Pinning the Tail"
on the bunny, using large cotton balls or pom-poms and tape.

Easter Bunny, Easter Bunny, Where's Your Egg?
Cut a Large paper egg. The players form a circle with one child in the middle as "the Bunny" The Bunny covers their eyes while a player is selected to sit on the egg. Then the Children Chant...
"Easter Bunny, Easter Bunny, where's your egg?
Somebody stole it from your home!"
The Easter bunny then has three guesses to find the
child who is sitting on it. That child then becomes
the new bunny in the middle.

Follow the Bunny
Play follow the leader with an Easter theme...
Start hopping and then add other movements as well.

Easter Relay
Divide the Children into two teams.
Provide each team with one spoon and
a marshmallow Chick or Plastic Easter Egg.
