God's Eye  - Ojo de Dios
Cinco De Mayo Craft

Originally, "God's Eyes" were made to be placed on an altar so that the gods could watch over the praying people and protect them. They are now more often sold in markets, reminding us that God looks with love on people everywhere.

You’ll Need
string or yarn in several colors
two Popsicle or craft sticks
glue
scissors

Glue one stick on top of the other, making a cross or plus sign. Take one color of yarn and wrap it over and around
one stick, then over and around the next, over and
around the next, and so on.
Keep doing that as many times as you like.

Tie a different color string onto the old one with a tight knot.
Repeat steps 2 + 3 until complete.
Take a piece of string for a hanger, cut it, and tie or glue
it to your God's Eye. Hang it up in your room to enjoy.
Kit’s Tip:
I really enjoy making these with natural; sticks as opposed to Popsicle sticks.
You can then make a few of varying sizes.
Combine your God’s Eyes to make a mobile.
