Box of Love

To make this gift you'll need:
Small plain boxes- Jewelry boxes work very well.
Glitter, sequins or any ornamentation.
Ribbon
Printed poem, on good
stock paper if possible.

This is a very special gift
That you can never see.
The reason it's so special is,
It's just for you from me.
Whenever you are happy,
or even feeling blue.
You only have to hold
this gift and know
I think of you.

You never can unwrap it
Please leave the ribbon tied.
Just hold the box close
to your heart,
It's filled with love inside.

Have your child decorate the boxes in anyway
she/he pleases. Add ribbon and the poem
with the signature.
Tips:
Try your local Jewelry Store for boxes.
I was able to purchase them for
25 cents each.

Placemats and Coasters
Your children's artwork can be transformed into useful & beautiful Placemats or coasters for friends and relatives.
You may use existing artwork or have your child design something special. For placemats, have your child draw, paint or color a picture on a large piece of paper, then laminate it or cover it with clear contact paper.
For coasters, you might have your child trace his or her handprint on colored paper and laminate. Don't forget to sign and date the back!

Chocolate Melting Spoons
christmas gifts kids can make, choclate dipped spoons, kids gifts to make, christmas crafts

Simply dip colored plastic spoons (higher quality)
in melted dark, milk or white chocolate
(or candy coating) and top with multicolored or glittery sprinkles. Wrap in clear or colored cellophane, tied with ribbon. For a special addition to this yummy gift, glue a photo of your child onto a square of construction paper & make a gift tag. NOTE: This is intended as a hot drink stirrer. We do NOT recommend you allow young children to eat these alone, as they could bite into the plastic spoon.

Simple to Make Soap Shapes

You'll need Ivory soap bars, water
liquid food coloring; cookie cutters; and a strong
kitchen grater. The measurments may vary but in general one bar of soap requires 1/4 cup of water and two drops of color.
Finely grate the soap in a big bowl, add water and coloring. Mix well and spoon into cookie cutters. Pack the mixture firmly and dry overnight. You can also shape the soap into balls. Wrap in netting and tie up with a colorful ribbon.
Extra: If you want your soaps scented, add a few drops of essential oil or soap scent. Most craft stores will carry these items.

Pots of Love
Brighten dreary winter days, with brightly hand painted,
terra cotta pots. Add a festive touch with gold and silver paint. A painted flowerpot can be filled with little stones
and used for forcing bulbs. Or include some cuttings from some of your favorite houseplants.
