Family Craft Ideas for Kids - Napkin Rings

       Wanting to do her part for the planet, Lindsey a Northwest, mother
of four, switched from paper napkins to cloth.
 "However, to avoid using someone else's used napkin, I was washing a small load of linens far too often...is all this detergent and water good for the planet either? -- hmmmm a new dilemma. That's when we started making our own napkin rings. We could use the same napkin for a few days before washing. Making our own personal napkin rings, aloud us to express our individuality as well."
     Over the years Lindsey's family has created napkin rings with paper covered T.P. tubes, pipe cleaners, ribbons and her new idea...
personalized craft foam napkin rings. "Using the sticker foam letters
ensured our napkins would never get mixed up."

You'll need:
All of these supplies can be found at a craft store.
A few sheets of craft foam in various colors
Scissors
Craft foam alphabet stickers and shapes
Permanent Markers (optional)
Hole Punch
Plastic Lanyard

Directions:
Cut a 1 1/2 x 5 inch strip of craft foam. We used specialty edging scissors, but you can use regular scissors or pinking shears. Make a hole
at each end of the strip. Then use permanent markers, foam stickers etc.
to personalize your napkin ring. Lace a piece of lanyard through the two holes and tie to secure the strip of foam into a ring.
 

That's it -- your done!
