Five Fabulous Budget Birthday Parties for Kids (continued)

#3 Popcorn and a Movie Sleepover

Kids as young as 6 and up to the teen years love sleepovers and they can be very inexpensive to host.

Decorations:
Add some balloons and streamers to the party space and cozy touches to the sleeping area such as throw pillows and blankets on the floor.
Fun homemade touches such as hanging paper stars, moons and white twinkling lights are a special touch.
Check out the movie party kit shown below- it's a great match!

Activities:
Manicures for girls, homemade pizza,  play a few rounds of a sleeping bag relay race and flashlight tag- then watch a movie to settle down for the night.

Favors:
Inexpensive flashlights or slipper socks (dollar store) that are personalized with permanent markers or puffy paint.

Cake:
Provide supplies to decorate cupcakes or make ice cream sundaes.

The Big Money Savers:
If you keep the group small, you can have a sleepover for less than $50.00. Paint nails with polish you may already have. The games are free and you can bake cookies or cupcakes, make popcorn and watch a movie that you own or rent.  Your local dollar store will have flashlights, and slipper socks for cool party favors!
