Budget Birthday Party Themes for Kids (continued)
#2 Birthday Sweet Shop

Cake, ice cream, kids in the kitchen...what a fun-filled birthday party!
Decorations:
Keep it simple with balloons, streamers and possibly a cupcake party banner throughout the party room - let the guest of honor pick the colors.
Activities:
Little cooks will be bake and decorate cookies, cup cakes, or even make their own ice cream sundaes.
For games, make a "pin the Candle on the Cake" with poster board and construction paper and play a round of "the Chef Says" (Simion Says) to burn up that sugar fueled energy.
Favors:
Send the kids home with their own package of decorator sprinkles and/or a cookie cutter!
Cake:
The activities above pretty much have this covered, but you can also make your own "pin the candle on cupcake" game or send the kids on a hunt for the items they'll need to prepare their treats.
Tips:
Provide old shirts for smocks, keep plenty of diaper wipes available for handwashing and enlist some adult or teen helpers. Use wood craft sticks for frosting instead of knives.
The Big Money Savers:
There’s no need for an expensive bakery cake or fancy party table decor because the kids will be using the table to decorate their own cupcakes etc.
