Easy Kids Games and Rainy Day Fun for Kids

What's In the Bag?

Most of us depend on sight and sound to make our way through this world. So much so, we ignore our sense the of touch. Share with your child the rich textures of the world in which we live.

You only need a plain paper sack and ordinary household items.
Reach into the bag...
How many objects can be identified without looking ?
Use this game as a tool for language development.
In the beginning, ask questions to help build their ability of description..."
Is the object smooth to touch...sharp, blunt, cold like metal,
firm, soft etc."
When your child is ready, increase the challenge by
placing several similar objects in the bag.
For example: Show her several toys cars.
Then place all of the cars into the bag and see if she can distinguish one car from the next.

Office Play
Every child loves to role play their favorite adults. Both my children enjoy this time. They get an effective learning activity and I get time to do chores, work, even a cup of coffee.

You’ll need
Junk mail, flyers, coupons
Office Supplies
Paper clips, tape, stapler,
hole punch etc.
boxes for incoming and outgoing mail
calculator
Play phone
Just set up an "office" using boxes or the kitchen table.
A child's imagination will do the rest !
