Easily make a 3-D autumn harvest pumpkin or squash with a paper bowl.

To make this craft you'll need:
paper bowls
autumn color acrylic paint (orange, gold, green, red, brown) kids washable paint will also work
green, brown and red, craft foam or felt
raffia ribbon
glue stick or glue dots
paint brush
scissors
First cover your work area and children should wear smocks when making this craft project. Turn the bowl upside down so that you can paint the outside of the bowl with the orange paint. If you are using acrylic paint,
it will dry quickly. Cut the leaves and stem while the paint is drying.
Using a pencil to draw or trace the leaf shapes on the paper make this job easier.
Once the paint is mostly dry lightly brush brown or dark orange lines on the bowl to give it more of a "pumpkin look". Use glue dots to attach the stem and leaves on the top. Tie a raffia bow and add that last with the glue dots. If you are making these in a classroom setting, they will add an autumnal decor to your bulletin boards and wall all through November.
Try stapling two bowls together and then hang the 3-D pumpkins from
the ceiling using fishing line.
Kit's tip:
My daughter used glitter paint to add some shine and they turned out beautifully. You can also play around with colors...these don't' have to
be pumpkins...painted gold or green and you have a squash as well.
