First, use a pencil to trace the leaves on your paper. Put
two pieces of paper together and cut out the leaf shapes.
You should have two identical pieces. Then, grate pieces of
crayon with a cheeses grater (grown up job).
Cut four squares of wax paper that fit over the leaf shapes
on the paper.
Give yourself 1-2 inches of border. Help your child scatter
the crayon pieces onto two of the wax paper squares. Be sure
you have plenty for best results. Place another piece of wax
paper on top of the crayons. Then lay an old rag or two
paper towels on top. Press a very warm iron (grown-up job)
onto the crayons and wax paper until the crayon pieces are
melted and the wax paper pieces are melted together as well.
Repeat with the second set of wax paper and crayons.
Use tape or a glue stick to attach the "stained glass"
pieces onto the leaf spaces and glue the second piece of
paper on top.
Now you are ready to hang this work of art in the window to
enjoy!
