Barking Giraffe Craft

Did you know a giraffe could bark? This is the perfect outdoor craft to do in the yard or on a camping trip. You can let nature provide free and fun craft supplies; just be sure you're ready to get your hands dirty!

Materials
  • decorative bark broken into small pieces
  • cardboard (a panel from a disassembled cereal box is perfect)
  • yellow craft paint
  • 1 handful of grass
  • 1 handful of sand or coarse dirt
  • 1 paintbrush
  • scissors
  • white glue
  • pencil
Instructions
    1.
    Have your child draw their best giraffe on the cardboard with a pencil.
    2.
    Using your scissors, cut the giraffe out.
    3.
    Paint the giraffe with the yellow paint; you can also use markers, if you like.
    4.
    Glue the bark pieces to the body of the giraffe.
    5.
    Glue the grass on to create the giraffe's mane.
    6.
    Glue the sand/dirt on to make the giraffe's hooves.
