Making a T-shirt using a real fish may sound a little ... well, fishy to you, but this summer craft is sure to catch your child's interest.

Materials
  • 1 (dead) fish from the market or a fishing trip
  • fabric paint in various colors
  • 1 paintbrush
  • 1 plain white T-shirt in your child's size
Instructions
    1.
Rinse the fish well, and dry it gently with a paper towel.
    2.
Lie the fish on its side and paint it using the fabric paint using your favorite colors and designing any pattern you choose. You can also use a paint roller or paint sponges for a nice effect.
    3.
Carefully lift the fish and press it, paint-side-down, onto the front and center of the T-shirt.
    4.
Lift the fish off the T-shirt and you will see that now you have a painted fish, scales and all, on the front of your shirt.
    5.
    Let the paint dry completely.
    6.
    Wash the shirt before wearing.
Tips
  • Glitter paint works really well for this project!
  • NEVER use a live fish!
