Christmas is a time to deck the halls! Get your kids involved making Christmas crafts, like this wooden spoon snowman, or this adorable family of Penguin Pals to greet your guests at the door.
Materials
empty 2 liter plastic bottle
craft foam sheets (black, orange, white)
small sock
spray paint
craft glue or glue gun (adults only)
Instructions
1.
Paint the clean soda bottle with white spray paint (adults only).
2.
Cut shapes from craft foam: two wings, two webbed feet, triangle beak ovals for eyes (or use large "wiggle eyes").
3.
When the spray paint is dry, glue the wings to the side of the bottle
and the feet on the bottom. Then add the eyes and beak.
4.
Make a winter hat, using a small sock and rubber band: cuff the sock to the desired size, cut the toe out of the sock, and make "fringes". Place a rubber band just below the fringe.
5.
A pink marker will make rosy cheeks.
6.
Put the hat on and you are done!
Tips
Penguin Pals can also be made with smaller bottles.
