Dads love homemade gifts just as much as moms do! Dad will stand over the grill all summer, proudly using these BBQ Chef tools made especially for him: Father's Day BBQ Apron Craft and these Father's Day Chef Tools.

Materials
  • wood handled grill tools
  • acrylic paints
  • paint brushes
  • clear acrylic sealer
Instructions
    1.
    Prepare your surface.
    2.
Pour the paints into an ice tray to keep the colors separate and fill a jar with clean water. Have paper towels or rags handy.
    3.
Paint the wood handles. Allow 30 minutes or more to dry completely.
    4.
Now it is time for the sealer (adults only). Follow the directions on your sealer container.
Tips
  • The wood handled tools can be found at your local hardware store.
  • Have the kids paint the handles with acrylic paints and you spray with a clear acrylic spray for extra protection.
  • Acrylic paint dries within a few minutes and even faster in the sun. Tell children to think through their design ideas before they begin painting.
  • Teach younger children how to "dip & dry" their brushes in between colors or have a brush for each color.
