A is for "apple", and apples mean autumn, and red and yellow leaves, and back to school! This Apple Egg Carton craft is a terrific back to school craft that would be a great gift for the teacher!
- Materials
-
- cardboard egg carton
-
red acrylic or kids' paint
-
paint brushes
- green pipe cleaner stems
- scissors
- work space cover
- smocks
- Instructions
-
1.
Cut the cups from the egg carton.
2.
Cover the children's work space. Place your red paint in a small container. We use an old muffin tin when we paint. Red is a messy paint so we recommend you have the children wear art smocks or old shirts before you begin.
3.
Place the egg cup upside down. Poke a hole in the center. This is where the stem will go.
4.
Completely cover the outside of the egg cup with red paint. Leave it to dry.
5.
Fold the pipe cleaner stems in half and poke the loose ends through the hole on top of the dry painted apple.
6.
From inside the egg cup, make a knot or twist the ends of the pipe cleaner so that they are secure. Then bend and fold the pipe cleaner stem to resemble apple leaves.
