Homemade sidewalk chalk is a great summer craft and you can spend the afternoon decorating your driveway or front stoop with your kids.

Materials
  • 6 wax-coated paper cups
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 cups plaster of paris
  • 2 tablespoons powdered tempera paint (any color you choose)
  • 1 bucket
Instructions
    1.
Mix all the ingredients together in your bucket.
    2.
Pour the mixture into your cups.
    3.
Let mixture dry in cups until semi-firm.
    4.
Peel the paper cups off the semi-firm mixture and then set aside to let the mixture dry completely (about an hour and a half).
    5.
    Enjoy your chalk!
Tips
  • NEVER discard the remaining plaster of paris or remaining mixture down any plumbing; this will stop up all of your drains. Simply throw away any extra material in the garbage.
