Aren't you excited for spring? Here's a fun way to show off beautiful spring flowers from your garden, and share them with a friend. May 1st is known as May Day, and in the United States, a traditional way to celebrate this holiday is by filling small containers with flowers and leaving them on friends' doorsteps. You can make a traditional May basket, or you can try other crafts. The Pretty Flower Cones below can be filled with flowers and hung on a doorknob.

Gather together all of your materials.
Paint party hats with your acrylic paint, if desired. I painted mine with antique white acrylic craft paint. Let paint dry completely before adding embellishments.
Glue your flat embellishments like ribbon and lace, using craft glue or hot glue (for adults ONLY). A lacy or ribbon border around the top of the cone looks really pretty. Set your craft aside and allow glue to dry.

Add dimensional embellishments like buttons, rhinestones, or costume jewelry
Create a ribbon handle by gluing the ends of your 60-inch length of ribbon to the sides of your cone.
Let glue dry.

Fill with flowers or brightly clored tissue paper.
