Last year, I started making placecards for our holiday table settings. It's a simple way to personalize a festive table and it costs virtually nothing. Placecards are the perfect vehicle to use up all those little bits and bobs of ribbons, papers and appliqués that you collect from one craft project or another over the years.

Materials
  • card stock for the actual placecard, 4x6
  • coordinating ribbon
  • snowman adhesives
  • winter-themed stickers
  • scissors
  • foam adhesive squares
  • glue
  • permanent marker or metallic pen (you will use this to write on the cardstock, so if you choose a dark color cardstock, you'll want to use a metallic pen so the ink will show up)
Instructions
    1.
Cut your cardstock into a 4x6 size and fold in half

    2.
Cut your coordinating ribbon the length of the placecard and glue to the bottom of it, from left to right.

    3.
Using foam adhesive squares (to give it a bit more dimension), add the snowman to your placecard. I found these particular snowmen in a 16-pack at my local craft store for a few bucks, but you can also cut the snowman circles out of scrapbook paper as well for a completely different look.

    4.
In the upper right corner of your placecard, add a few holiday-themed stickers. Regular stickers work, as well as scrapbook stickers or appliqués.
    5.
Using your permanent marker or metallic pen, write the name of each guest in the upper right of your placecard.
